Tashi khadar to the newly appointed DAA and the CBS coordinator by President

The President of the College, Lungtaen Gyatso offered Tashi khadar to the newly appointed Dean of Academic Affairs (DAA) and the Centre for Buddhist Studies (CBS) coordinator on 1 September 2021.

The new Dean of Academic Affairs (DAA) for the College of Language and Culture Studies (CLCS) is Mr Jigme Dorji. He has been appointed with the recommendation from the President’s Search Committees (PSC), and formal approval from Registrar, the Office of Vice-Chancellor (OVC), Royal University of Bhutan.
He started his career in the Ministry of Education (MoE) as a Teacher and later joined CLCS and served as Head of Department cum Staffs General Secretary since 2017, and also as a staff Moderator for the Khyentse Talk and Rigzhung Initiator and Organizer (RIO). He takes over responsibility from Mr Pema Wangchuk, who has been appointed as Acting Dean of Affairs from 2020 – August 2021.
The new centre Coordinator for the Buddhist Studies (CBS) is Lopen Thinley Gyaltshen. He started his career at Buli Dratshang as a Lopen, before he joined the College in 2017. He replaces Lopen Dorji Gyaltshen, who heads the Buddhist Centre from 2019-2021.
