Two days’ workshop for the Programme leaders on Programme Development Process is ongoing at the College of Natural Resources (CNR) which begins on August 6 will end on August 7, 2020. It is organized by the Centre for University Learning and Teaching (CULT) under the Department of Academic Affairs, the Royal University of Bhutan to the new Programme Leaders and Academic Deans of Paro College of Education, College of Language and Culture Studies and College of Natural Resources.

However, Dr. Sonam Tobgay said from this workshop, the participants are expected to; developed a fuller understanding of the overall process of initiating a new Programme under RUB; developed a clear differentiation of validation and review document; convinced the aims and objectives of validation and review of programs; developed confidence in writing the Definitive Programme Document and other relevant documents; and developed a basic understanding of curriculum mapping (basic and skill level methods).

Most of the participants are expecting new learning outcome to resolve the issues they faced at the workplace. One participant said, “This workshop is an eye-opener for the Programme leaders to get aware of Programme development process and Programme review process”.  Similarly, most of us are waiting to resolve the new challenge of not having this type of workplace for the newcomers so that process of Programme development and programme review were according the Wheel of Academic Law section D4, E1, F1, F4, F5, and F7.

It will be helpful for the Programme leaders and Deans to sort out the challenge faced in writing Programme Document for the Programme Quality and Committee (PQC) and Definitive Programme Document (DPD).

The two days’ workshop is resourced by Dr, Sonam Tobgay, and Chief of Centre for University Learning and Teaching (CULT) under Department of Academic Affairs, Royal University of Bhutan.
